“Flying in a Blue Dream” was Joe Satriani’s third studio album. This album is Joe’s most popular album and his second highest-charting release. His single, “Flying in a Blue dream” was nominated for best rock instrumental performance. This album went gold in the US and Australia and silver in the UK.
Something that you need to know about Joe is that he is considered by many to be one of the greatest guitar player. He is a virtuoso and experimental guitarist and a pioneer in the guitar world. Joe was a guitar teacher and taught some of the most influential guitarists of the 20th century. He taught Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett of Metallica, and Andy Timmons.
Now back to this album, it’s a, 80’s style instrumental rock album. In the first song you can really hear the extraordinary talent of Joe. His insane phasing and use of different techniques makes his signature style stick out so much. This whole album is pretty much amazing, so with all that said, I HIGHLY suggest you check it out.
